24 Hour Fitness is seeking a Senior Project Manager in its
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Develop initial Project Scope Document
- Create, manage, and update detailed project plans
- Defines project scope, deliverables, schedules, budgets, and tasks list
- Estimates duration and resource requirements
- Conducts project kickoff, steering committee, and team meetings
2. Manages the Project Plan through implementation
- Directs the development and implementation of large, complex information technology programs, products, and services
- Works with functional and resource managers to acquire needed resources
- Work with and manage vendors to ensure successful project completion
- Provides leadership in the analysis, planning, design and implementation of tightly integrated, efficient, cost-effective, scalable solutions
- Establishes effective communication between dependent projects
- Resolves project issues, problems, and changes
- Communicates project status to project team members
- Identifies and escalates pertinent issues
3. Conducts project presentations to customers, upper management, and executive personnel
- Provides consultative advice as appropriate to IT department management and business executives on emerging practices, technologies and applications that might improve the business area with which this individual liaises
- Consults with management on an on-going basis to maintain strategic link to business needs
- Leads projects to overall success
- Documents and archives project plans
ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIPS:
Interfaces with the customers across multiple business units to manage expectations. Assigns and monitors work of project team members, providing technical support and direction. Works with functional managers to assure complete and appropriate re-sourcing. Consults with and manages vendors to ensure successful satisfaction of milestones and project completion. Advises management and executives on project status, escalating pertinent issues in a timely manner. Directly responsible for resource and project team management.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1) Knowledge, skills & abilities:
- Specific knowledge in leading project management teams
- Excellent attention to detail, oral and written communication ability with both technicians and management
- Self motivated, able to set and maintain priorities while working toward operational goals
- Experienced in developing cost/benefit analyses for IT projects
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
2) Minimum certifications/educational level:
- Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or Computer Science or a business degree such as Accounting or Math with a minor in Information Systems
- Extensive relevant work experience, including certification in proven project management methods
3) Minimum experience:
- Preferred minimum of four years of project management with at least 8 years of work experience in IT industry
- Experience in leading simultaneous complex projects from inception to successful completion
- Experience in managing personnel from various organizations toward common business goals
- One or two years telecommunications experience and minimum of one year software engineering experience
4) Physical Requirements:
- Travel is not routine during the performance normal duties; however, may occur.
