NASSCOM, the India-based National Association of Software and Service Companies, has announced plans to put all call center job candidates through a skills test, according to this article on Business Standard. According to reporter Ashish Aggarwal, the test is expected to be given to 500,000 people a year and will primarily be for entry-level candidates. The exam will check keyboard and computer skills, process skills and personality attributes through a set of multiple choice questions. Also, it will confirm English skills, apparently by recording the candidate's speaking voice and having it checked by the testing organizations. I can't find anything mentioning the new test on the NASSCOM Web site, so details are few.
