Job: Data Warehousing Project Manager in Seattle, WA

    Quaero Corp. is looking for a CRM project manager who will apply your knowledge and experience of the development life cycle for complex data warehousing systems to manage the execution of a customer-centric data warehousing development project. You will be responsible for managing the interactions with the client in order to track deliverables through completion and signoff, obtain required information and documentation from the client, track and resolve issues that arise and generally manage the scope of the project. You will work closely with the Technical Director, who is responsible for architecting and building the overall solution, to complete all deliverables in accordance with client requirements. You will maintain a project plan, issues log and deliverables log to track the project progress. You will communicate on a continual basis with multiple client stakeholders representing both business and IT organizations to advise them on status of deliverables and issues and resolve barriers to progress, and will assess and communicate how various project issues are affecting the overall project plan. You will be the primary driver of the deliverable acceptance process and will ensure that the process is followed by all Quaero and client team members. You will manage the scope of the project by maintaining a baseline set of project requirements, assessing whether client requests fall inside or outside of that baseline, formulating project change orders and obtaining client approval of those change orders. You will represent the Quaero team in project status meetings, and in this role, you must be aware of the technical content of project issues. Due to this requirement of the role, familiarity with data warehousing technology and environments and business intelligence applications is required.

    To be successful in this role, the candidate must have working knowledge of proven project management practices and standard tools, such as Microsoft Project. Prior experience in managing projects of 10-30 people is required. Experience in working in a technical capacity in a large database centric systems development project is also required.

    More specifically, we are looking for a professional with:

    • At least 8 years experience developing complex database systems, with at least 2 years of that experience in a data warehousing environment
    • At least 3 years of project management experience in a large scale database systems environment
    • Proficiency in using Microsoft Project or similar tool for planning, analyzing and reporting the status of projects
    • Excellent interpersonal skills
    • The ability to state and defend their position on an issue
    • The ability to take a firm stance without being confrontational or offensive
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • A high level of motivation, commitment to quality and productivity

    The most desirable candidates also will have:

    • Experience working with financial services industry data
    • Experience with data warehouses involving large numbers of source data systems (25-50 sources)
    • A knowledge of the relationship marketing business process

    A bachelor's degree is required.

    Work location is Seattle, WA. This position requires 5 day per week full time work in Seattle. Relocation assistance or travel expense reimbursement is available. Up to 100% travel.
