GE is seeking an Operations Leader for the GE Consumer and Industrial Global Sourcing IT team. The employee will manage the day-to-day operations for 50+ applications and lead initiatives to improve quality, stability and uptime of all Sourcing applications. More specifically:
- Manage day-to-day operations (RTS) support for all Global Sourcing applications. This includes SupplierNet, Oracle Purchasing, SPQ, SliC, eBCN, and pTool;
- Coordinate new software development with the Sourcing IT Project Leaders to ensure there is no negative impact to existing production operations;
- Track and measure all RTS activities on a weekly basis;
- Define processes and supporting metrics to drive reduction of RTS activities and create growth capacity within the Sourcing IT team;
- Lead small projects designed to reduce RTS or provide enhanced functionality to the Sourcing users;
- Provide process leadership in the following areas:
1. Transitioning development projects into the support structure;
2. Change control and production rollouts;
3. Source code control for all managed applications - Define and deliver a Quality Assurance (QA) protocol for all Sourcing applications;
- Establish and maintain Support Central sites for all applications;
- Provide work direction and mentoring to onsite and offshore team members
- Manage the activities of contractors hired for enhancements
Qualifications
- BS/MS Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Business Management
- 3-5 years of IT Project Leadership skills
- Proven technical proficiency and a demonstrated passion for technology
- Willingness to provide thought leadership in areas of IT process improvement and overall systems-related strategies
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and team facilitation skills
- Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
- Strong analytical ability and problem solving skills
- Experience leading offshore development team(s)
Desired
- Six Sigma Black Belt certification
- 2+ years of hands-on systems development/programming experience
- Experience working in a Manufacturing business
