    Aon Service Corp. is seeking a senior project manager in Chicago. The Project Manager II has overall responsibility for planning, and coordinating activities pertaining to systems or projects. Manages staff responsible for support of new or previously developed applications from analysis through post-implementation product support. Develops detailed project plans that define key activities, timelines, and resource requirements needed to achieve project objectives. Conducts full life cycle project process management, including gathering requirements and performing cost/benefit analysis to ensure quality is addressed through all phases of the project. Responsible for managing project teams and related implementation activities according to project plans. May be responsible for recruiting, development, coaching and evaluation of staff. Analyzes outside vendor products and negotiate with vendors to implement package business solutions. Accountable for timely completion of projects and deliverables within established timelines. Responsible for executing full and complete technical documentation for new systems. Responsible for executing full testing of new systems. Responsible for developing client relationships and working closely with users and technology departments to ensure acceptance, quality, and integrity of the information. Provides status reports to IT leadership. Coordinate and respond to request for changes from original specifications. Monitors project results against technical specifications and performance measures. Communicates plans, status, and issues to higher levels of management. May define and conduct user training for new applications or modifications, as required. Projects budget generally greater than $1,000,000. Generally greater than 3 or more people assigned to project and may have multiple large complex projects that will vary in scope and impact to multiple business units.

    REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Minimum 5-10 years experience directly supervising employees and consultants on project activities.
    • Minimum 5-10 years experience planning, managing and scheduling project activities.
    • Ability to manage internal and external development projects from inception to successful implementation.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate staff to apply skills and techniques to solve dynamic problems.
    • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients and vendors.

    Ability to provide assistance to business unit and provide recommendations to improve overall processes.

    REQUIRED EDUCATION:

    • Strong knowledge project planning and management activities.
    • Strong knowledge of documentation processes.
    • Solid knowledge of systems testing techniques.
    • Solid knowledge of IT operations and operational environments.
    • Understands how to leverage existing business resources.
