A friend directed me to a brief piece in the San Francisco Chronicle on the abuse we Americans heap on Indian call center staff. One attorney in Bombay has even formed a collective for call center workers to give them a chance to air their grievances.
Folks, the next time you get a call to upgrade your credit card service or need phone help with some tech problem, just remember: You’re talking to somebody else’s beloved child and that parent is really proud of what his or her kid has accomplished. And retain your humanity.
