This coverage in Network World of an article in The Wall Street Journal says that HP and Blackstone Group are “reportedly considering bidding for Computer Sciences Corp.” Blackstone was one of a consortium of buyers, led by Lockheed, that rejected previous acquisition terms late last year.

According to this coverage on Good Morning Silicon Valley, the asking price is $12 billion. That was the same price bandied about during the earlier round of buyout rumors, and still a handsome premium for stock that’s currently trading at $54 or $55 a share on a company with a market cap of about $10 billion.

Blackstone and another bidder in that previous group of buyers, Texas Pacific Group, are also said to be joining Bain Capital in a bid to acquire CSC rival ACS. The rumors of this buyout started just before Christmas and were fed further fuel by coverage in The New York Times earlier this week. That sale price was said to be $8 billion. That’s about a five percent premium above its current market cap of $7.63 billion.
