In spite of the rapidly growing economy in India and China, a large percentage of revenue generated by technology companies comes by selling to large US enterprises. There are a small number of large enterprises emerging from India in areas such as telecom (Airtel, Reliance), banking (ICICI) and retail (Reliance). But the number of $1 billion dollar companies is still very limited for large software companies to invest in product localization, sales and marketing towards selling to the India market. This scenario might not change drastically over the next few years. Is there a way the US software companies can provide catalyst to push some of the medium sized companies to the exponential growth curve thereby creating a larger number of enterprises they can sell to in the next 5 years?
