A New RFP for General Motors

The Wall Street Journal reported yesterday that GM will start seeking bidders for its tech services later this year, because its 10-year contract with EDS ends in June 2006. That’s a contract for $3 billion a year. The bidding process is to be led by GM’s group VP and CIO, Ralph Szygenda, a guy with a hard name to pronounce who gets his face on a lot of covers on trade magazines. What I wouldn’t give to see what an RFP for this kind of project looks like. Where does one even begin to formulate the plan?
