I'll be heading out in a couple of hours to go vote today — my preference always to be to go to the polls rather than fill out an absentee ballot. It's an experience I haven't missed since I turned 18. I'm getting a lot of "Remember to Vote" emails in my inbox today — as if I could somehow forget the importance of what will transpire over the next 11 hours all over the country. But what MoveOn.org sent me is the best kick in the pants I needed to retain some modicum of idealism. It's an excerpt from a speech given by Bill Moyer at a conference in 2003. You can read the entire speech here. "Democracy is not a lie."
