Logistics Today summarizes AT Kearney's 2004 "Assessment of Excellence in Procurement" study on trends in outsourcing procurement. The gist: there are savings to be had by outsourcing at least some of the decidedly unglamorous back-office procurement function: “'Companies are chasing savings through overseas sourcing, but their internal structures are likely to prevent the full benefits of these savings from occurring,'” says John Blascovich, an A.T.
