    The Wall Street Journal, in its final issue of the year, provided a series of outlook articles for Asia and Europe. Among the reporting I found most interesting were these items:


    India’s consumer segment has emerged, buoyed by its IT services industry, which expects to employ 9 million mostly younger workers in the next five years. Foreign investment is projected to reach $22 billion in 2006 — more than double of 2005.


    On the China front, we may see more deals in which “Chinese companies seek to acquire foreign assets to become global players” in their own right.
